Performance and Preferences of Calculus Prerequisite Delivery Options for a Course in Machine Learning: Self-Study vs Interactive; Online vs Traditional Classes
Synopsis
Advanced STEM classes require prior knowledge, provided as either a traditional classroom class or self-study material. We offer an option combining both traditional and self-study courses, as an online interactive system. Multivariate Calculus was implemented as an interactive online course, compared with both other modes. Self-study produces the worst results, interactive online and traditional classrooms give similar results, while students and instructors prefer an interactive option.
